What: Ninth-annual Madison Money Conference™. 

                There is no selling or high pressure sales tactics of any sort at the Conference.  It is a purely educational event.

Who is Putting on the Conference: Asset Builders is a Wisconsin nonprofit organization and conducts the Conference in cooperation with many partners from the area and around the state.

When: Saturday August 15, 2009 from 8:30am – 2:30 pm

            (Registration & Breakfast begins at 7:30)

Where:  J.C. Wright Middle School, 1717 Fish Hatchery Road, Madison, WI

What:

·         Over 20 one-hour classroom sessions featuring instruction on topics such as “How to Read your Credit Report and Improve your Credit Score”, “Homeownership 101”, “How to Get Out of Living Paycheck to Paycheck”, “How to Avoid Predatory Lenders”, and much more.

·         Age-appropriate programming for students.

·         Child care for kids between the ages of 2 and 6 (advance reservations necessary).

·         Everyone at the Conference will be able to get a free copy of his or her credit report, complete with credit score, and will be able to ask a credit expert questions in a one-on-one setting.

·         Participants may also ask questions about mortgage foreclosure issues in a one-on-one setting.

·         Door prizes throughout the day.

·         Continental breakfast and lunch included with the modest admission charge.

Cost: Advance registration (if received before April 17) is $5.00 for adults and $2.50 for students up to the age of 18.  After that date, registration is $5.00 for students and $7.50 for adults.

What: Second Annual Madison Finance & Investment Challenge Bowl™

When: Wednesday January 13, 2010, from 8:30 an until 1:30 pm

Where: Grainger Hall, UW-Madison School of Business. 

What:
        •  The FICB is a personal finance study program for students culminating in a quiz competition to enhance and test student knowledge.  FICB participants form teams of four students under the supervision of an adult coach and are required to master the content found at www.ficbonline.org.  This educational content on this website is provided by Precision Information, LLC, a Wisconsin provider of NASD-compliant investment education content.  Students should visit this website – there is no charge -- to use its Learning Library and to take practice tests to prepare for the live competition.


Cost: Registration fees waived for this first-ever event.
