Asset Builders created the Intelligent
Arts Project™ in 2001 to allow youth (ages 6-18) to use their creative
talents in the process of learning important financial concepts. We
hosted an Intelligent Arts Showcase at three locations in 2004 –
Madison, Milwaukee, and Beloit/Janesville. The Project begins when we recruit students to stage original, creative
performances (music, raps, skits, poems, oratories, dance, drills etc.)
having a finance-related theme. Successful artists instruct participants
in the performing arts and work closely with them to develop a “stage
presence” and other performance attributes. Asset Builders coordinates the personal finance curriculum. Together, we will work closely with these students to polish their performances prior
to the Showcase, which we’ve scheduled for the Milwaukee Money
Conference(TBD) and the Madison Money Conference (date TBD).
At each Showcase, judges rate the students on the basis of creativity,
presentation quality and finance theme. The top rated performers receive
trophies, savings bonds and other prizes. We’ll evaluate students’
progress in performance arts using our musical and teaching experience
and through the results of the judged Showcase.
