About Asset Builders
Our Story
A non-profit organization that has been teaching financial capability and economic empowerment to low- and moderate-income youth and families since 1999.
How we started
Founders Richard Entenmann and Robert Wynn were both working in financial investor protection — Entenmann with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Wynn with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions. They both saw the damage that a lack of wealth and financial illiteracy was creating for millions of Americans, and together they founded Asset Builders in 1999. Their goal was simple: to proactively educate and prepare individuals to avoid financial pitfalls and predatory practices, and to show a better way to create personal wealth and economic stability.
Along with dozens of instructors, hundreds of volunteers, and numerous sponsors and donors, we have spent 27 years empowering communities through education and financial literacy — over 20,000 individuals taught, and counting.
Our approach
We produce programs targeted to low- and moderate-income youth, young adults, and families, and provide unbiased, quality information taught in a relatable way on a subject that will quite literally define an individual’s future.

A range of programs
Over 25 years, Asset Builders ran a range of programs, including The Money Conference, The Millionaires’ Club, Got Money! Teen Conference, and Go4It!
Today
As the organization focused its resources, it now concentrates on the Finance & Investment Challenge Bowl and the Youth P.O.W.E.R. Academy. The earlier programs’ histories are preserved, not deleted — see program history.
Where we work
We are proud to serve communities throughout Wisconsin, including Madison, Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, the Fox Cities/Appleton, Beloit, Janesville, Green Bay, Hayward, La Crosse, Oshkosh, Rhinelander, Eau Claire, Sheboygan/Manitowoc, Southwestern Wisconsin/Platteville, Wisconsin Rapids, and Wausau — and, since the 2024–25 season, Chicago and northern Illinois.
